And yet TikTok has not been proven to have done anything threatening yet – and how many people every year everywhere in the country (not just the “inner cities”) are killed by someone’s misguided use of a gun?
MAGA-GOP wanted Biden to say the name of the young lady murdered in Georgia. He should have said her name, then challenged the GOP to say the name of the children murdered in Uvalve, the children murdered in Marjorie Stoneham Douglas, the children murdered in Newtown, etc.
Should we/you not worry about all the other social media platforms? You really think you should trust the owner of “X”. He would sell his grandmother if he could find a buyer.
If the ban passes the Senate (which is questionable, given they move slower than molasses in January), it’ll likely be immediately challenged in court and promptly face an injunction preventing enforcement pending resolution of the court case. And that court case is likely to reject the law on the fairly obvious Constitutional grounds that this little girl has pointed out.
But isn’t it interesting that our lawmakers can move so swiftly to ban something like TikTok but do next to nothing when it comes to access to firearms?
The legislation doesn’t propose to ban TikTok outright, it sets a condition on its continued operation within the US, namely that it has to be owned and controlled by Americans, not the Chinese Communist Party. There’s a reason why it has bipartisan support. And, to the great surprise of nobody whatsoever, there are American capitalists lining up to put in a bid for it. Small wonder, given its 170 million participants. So it’s not going away any time soon, no matter how much some parents might wish that the government would do that on their behalf, so they wouldn’t have to look like the bad guys themselves.

The idiot above wants to be the next Kyle Ritter. Go out and buy one cheapskate. Don’t forget to leave a round in the spout when cleaning it.

The QOP is quite sleazy. And homicidal.

Seems to ignore the vote in the House which was heavily bipartisan. 352 in favor and 65 opposed.

Rename TikTok “Guns,” and it will remain in the American interwebs.

The bill will never make it past the Senate. It’s all just a show for their home-town voters.
