“It is a form of dehumanization behind a mask of humor. It reinforces the idea that Trump and his followers are in a particular ‘in’ group and those who critique them are not only outsiders, not only wrong, but they’re weak.” —Prof. T. Kenny Fountain, who struggled with a stutter problem in his youth
One man meets the family of a murder victim and says her killer never should have been allowed into the country in the first place. The other man mispronounced the murder victim’s name and apologized for using the “illegal” label to describe her killer. We’d call that a pretty clear contrast in the presidential election on the issue Americans care about most.
In selecting future employees, managers spend time reading and thinking about each person’s training, work record, and potential for increasing the value of the company.
Even a short resumé of the two leading candidates for president will show a reasonable person which is more suited to the job.
The choices
A family man with long history of serving at the national level, demonstrated respect for other cultures and for a democratic society; who supports international accords, is trusted and respected by foreign leaders, and who stands against totalitarian oppression.
or
one who indulges in frantic and frenetic diatribes, bigotry, denigration of those who disagree with him; who hip-shoots on policy, is deeply in debt, under multiple indictments, and facing millions in fines for mishandling others’ money, and who apparently models his future behavior after the masters of countries whose cultures do not allow their citizen/prisoners the kinds of freedoms Americans enjoy.
A kind and thoughtful man is trump. Never mocks those with disabilities; never denigrates women; never threatens our allies; never is untruthful, always makes an effort to bring the world together; What more could our country ask for… /s
The Former Guy is perpetually 13 years old; knows it all; will not shut up about all he “knows”(sic); was uncorrectable then and has since remained so — except has gotten even worse; became so intolerable within his home at that actual age his parents sent him to a correctional facility — er, sorry, I meant to a military school for juvenile males; and continues to constantly exhibit behavior which few parents tolerate from children of any age who live in their own homes.
Yet he is absolutely idolized maybe 40M of those same adults, and a similar number more overlook/tolerate that abysmal behavior, because they’ve been convinced by manipulative conservative media/political ideologues that this Former Guy will, if POTUS once more, exert the control they crave to be implemented over other societal members who are not ideological soulmates.
These 70+ millions of voters (at present) often say they support TFG because ‘he tells it like it is’.
TFG always speaks using hyperbole and superlatives. Everything — positive/negative good/bad favorable/unfavorable — is communicated as a binary extreme.
What/who else utilizes this sort of manipulative extremist language? Where is it regularly found?
Well, it instantly comes to mind for me that it is utilized every Sunday morning at pulpits, it is prevalent in “sacred” texts, and it is routinely/constantly employed in religious publications and social media and YouTube productions and religiously based movies by Christians. And which societal group in America comprises the near-unanimous base of tRumpy political support?

Yet another reason to vote him DOWN. Not all that important, but symptomatic of what’s wrong with him.

Most children are more mature than that former president. Adults who support him are maturely stunted.

Yet another stupid comment directly above. Is your orange messiah making any sense with his words yet?

We all know that Donald Trump has no sense of decency.
But the people attending his rallies are laughing at these “jokes“. So they obviously are not much better.

Once a bully, always a bully. Isn’t it time to put the two bit bully into prison yet?

A good point made: would you want your children to talk and act like Trump?

Trump is a role model for children everywhere.

I wonder how many MAGAs would be pleased if their children acted like and talked like Trump?

Sad isn’t it when children are encouraged, not.. to be like the president.

It cannot be easy raising a kid to be respectful and empathetic in the era of Trump.
