Works, if you let the tie represent both Trump AND the entire Republican Party. Then there’s Clarence Thomas, approved by a vote of 52-48, with 2 Republicans voting NAY – and 11 Democrats voting AYE (although most of those were from the South, before the whole contingent switched to Republican).
I’m curious about something. If all this keeps getting delayed, and Trump ends up as president again, would he still have to go to trial? That sounds like a nightmarish scenario, but with Trump, I don’t think this is impossible.

It should happen, it might happen, it would happen if this country was still run according to the rules we’ve lived by since day one concerning the idea that no one is above the law. Unfortunatley that ideal has take a serious hit the last few years and I don’t plan to hold my breathe.
