And hope for the GOP dies a quiet death in South Carolina

Nikki is terrifyingly conservative in the traditional sense, but if she were elected at least she would not rule by every impulse that strikes her and would be open to listening to reason. If Trump had been convicted in the first impeachment, empty-suit Mike would have become President, but again, he would act on a consistent set of givens, not just whatever struck him in the moment, as Trump always has.

She needs to keep going while being a thorn in the side of the orange, lying criminal. I consider supporting Haley as money well spent.

Nikki, remember, “It’s always darkest before Don”.

I see two important reasons for Haley to remain in the race:

1) If for any reason — death, hospitalization, prison, 14th Amendment, whatever — Trump should be eliminated from running, the Republicans would need someone as a candidate. All the other alternatives have already dropped out. It is a “service” both to herself and to the Party for her to continue to attract public attention.

2) While Trump is dominant, his hold on declared Republicans is not 100%. In South Carolina, she got essentially two votes for every three of his. The split in New Hampshire was essentially the same. Even in Nevada, the non-Trump candidates (Haley and Pence) got one vote for every two that went to Trump (with Haley getting almost 10 times as many as Pence).

So while not currently a majority, the not-Trump voters are still a significant part of the Republican Party, and it’s important to keep the public aware of that.

I get the message but somehow the proud people of the Great State of South Carolina might take offense to desecration of their flag. SC has a distinctive, well designed flag, as does AZ, TX, MD, OH, CO and CA. Most state flags can’t be distinguished one from another.

I think Haley is campaigning for 2028.

And so Trump’s attack on Democracy and the traditional Republican party continues.

If Nikki can get 1/4 of the GOP support, and that 1/4 is correct in assuming that Trump is a disaster that they can’t let happen to their party, their nominating convention is going to be worthy of a whole lot of popcorn. That will turn off at least some of the people who might otherwise hold their noses and vote for a person who has been convicted of sexual assault and fraud, with other convictions probably rendered by that time.

Granted it is a disgrace to our country that we have people who can overlook what Trump actually is because they interpret his incoherent ranting as telling them that he will do what they want done, but there seem to be a lot of them, and Nikki can rub their noses in his filth, possibly long enough to force them to open their eyes.

trump is now showing constant, worsening mental deterioration, and I’m not saying that as an insult to trump, and this is not whataboutism.During his speech in South Carolina after defeating haley, trump referred to his wife of more than twenty years as “mercedes”.It is real, and it is horrifying, to contemplate a person with his mental capacity, which is getting worse, in the white house.And eventually he will be seen less and less in public, not with dignitaries, not at rallies, not on the golf course, and the power of the president will be spread out and shared by stephen miller, roger stone, michael flynn, and whoever he selects to be attorney general.What if william barr comes back.What deals will be struck.What countries will he put us in bed with.God help us all.

I believe she is hoping that if Trump is either is in jail or dies from whatever is making him look so bad, that she will be the only candidate by the time the nominating convention is held. She won’t be. In that case, everyone who “suspended” their campaigns will instantly become active again and there will be additional people who suddenly become interested. The RNC is under no obligation to choose her simply because she is the runner up. And, there will be many Trump supporters in attendance even if he is in jail. His being dead might diminish their enthusiasm, but I’d bet good money he’d still get a pretty good percentage of the votes. And, if they choose him this summer, they are going to have to hold their breath that he is still alive and not in jail by November. Whatever, whoever is the nominee, the party will put on a show worthy of a lot of popcorn.

Haley is only slightly less “conservative” and insane than Trump. No Democrats are funding her.

NEWS FLASH: The state of South Carolina has announced that it is suing the Nikki Haley campaign for damage to its state flag. Haley responded “it’s all Trump’s fault.”

Confederate racist Haley is the second, if traitor Trump the professional thief gets knocked out she will be the fascist right wing leader.

Somehow, I’m reminded of the sky during Ramadan, which is also featured on many Islamic nations (Algeria, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, etc).

BTW, my husband has (once again) been vanished by the whining and sniveling of MAGA creeps, even though he didn’t violate the TOS. I’ll stand in for him in the meanwhile.
