Early morning practice for sports is an insanity I’m glad I never had to deal with.;-D

As my child once remarked (when in high school), “A teenager needs his sleep.”

Funny, I spent a few days with some cousins near Vancouver around 1998 : their youngest son didn’t want to get up so early for ice hockey practice!

Yesterday, John had 5:00 shadow; today, his face is clean. How could he shave in the car? And where would he get the time??

Is that Dawn? Why didn’t Elizabeth just get a ride with her?

Just like the Army, hurry up and wait.

It’s too bad the flying pig isn’t there. He’s Canadian, right?

Albeit the colorist forgot to color John’s red sports car, red, John is smoking his rubber tires! That is when the tires haven’t left the roadway surface and taken to the air! But yet Liz is complaining about his driving too slowly?

Isn’t it always the way?

There’s only one ice rink? This is Canada and there’s only one rink? Since Hockey is so popular, you’d think there would be more of these in the area where the Patterson family (fictionally) lives.

Well, there goes the skating practice.

Just as well Elizabeth, it means you’ve gotten away with showing up late. The same thing happened to me just last week.

At least he didn’t break the key off in the frozen lock

I’ve used the “you’re welcome” sarcastic comment more than once with my son when he was a teenager. It was almost always followed with an equally sarcastic “thank you”.

I remember when that happened to the store manager one Saturday when I was working at Borders (before they went bankrupt of course). Several of us were waiting for the opening manager, who was running late, trying to keep warm on one of the coldest mornings of the winter. We all cheered when we saw the manager come around the corner of the building, but stopped when we saw him stop about half way to the door and start checking his pockets. It turned out he’d put his store keys in his gym bag and then left the bag in the store the night before, forgetting that he was the one opening the store. It took almost an hour of calling around before he found someone who was awake and home to come in with their keys.

She didn’t say thank you? Imagine the look on Elizabeth’s face when she sees her Canada citizenship ID had a big red stamp on it

This reminds me of swim meets, had to be there at the sunrise and stay until one or two in the afternoon.
