The constitution is the law of the land.

The constitution specifies that the president be elected by electors chosen by the states. The states determine how the electors are chosen. But the constitution also specifies qualifications for being president. And the constitution specifies that federal laws supersede state laws.

The 14th amendment section 3 adds a qualification to officers of the government. They must not have engaged in insurrection/rebellion or supported it or given aid to people who do if they have taken an oath to support the constitution. Such actions are clearly against the constitution so the constitution is within its rights to exclude those people from government.

Donald Trump took that oath when he was inaugurated in 2017. The 14th amendment was part of the constitution when he took that oath.

The actions of Jan 6 were clearly an insurrection if not a rebellion, since they sought to impede a vital government function and even assassinate a sitting vice president.

Donald Trump, as president, had the opportunity to urge restraint of the mob and was advised to do so by members of his administration and did nothing. That constitutes support of the mob.

In my view, section 3 of the 14th amendment applies and should be used to deny Donald Trump the presidency.

Former President Donald Trump has refused to sign an optional oath that he will not “advocate the overthrow of the government” ahead of the 2024 election, according to an analysis from radio station WBEZ and the Chicago Sun-Times on Saturday.

Trump is the current frontrunner in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, and since his 2016 successful run, the former president has maintained a loyal base known as MAGA from his campaign slogan, Make America Great Again.

During Trump’s bid for president in 2016 and again in 2020, the MAGA leader signed a loyalty oath document and submitted it to Illinois election authorities. However, this time around, Trump did not sign the document. The oath, which political candidates in Illinois have been signing for over 50 years comes from a Cold-Era law that was made non-mandatory in the 1970s.The oath, which is a pledge of allegiance to the U.S. government and state of Illinois, is not required, but it is a tradition when presidential candidates turn in their nominating petitions to the Illinois State Board of Elections for the state’s primary held on March 19.

In part of the oath, candidates declare that they are not communists nor affiliated with communist organizations and in another part, which is more applicable to today, candidates swear that they “do not directly or indirectly teach or advocate the overthrow of the government of the United States or of this state or any unlawful change in the form of the governments thereof by force or any unlawful means.”

And he REFUSED to sign it.

How convenient to blame not just one half of a political machine, but one man. Trump was not a politican when 9/11 happened. When the PATRIOT Act was passed. When the NDAA was used to passed ever more unconstitutional “security state” laws. When Afghanistan and Iraq were invaded. He’s a Johnny-come-lately, albeit an enthusiastic and more extreme example, on tax breaks for the rich, imperial war budgets, increasing debt, ecocidal policies (anything for business), and even the culture war. Trump could be kidnapped by aliens and taken off to another planet, this very day, and nothing would substantially change.

01/05/2024 – (AP) – This week, the Supreme Court is allowing Idaho to enforce its strict abortion ban, even in medical emergencies. The law was written that ANY abortion is against the law, and the life of the mother is NOT taken into consideration! A lower court had stayed the new law, calling it too extreme. However the United States Supreme Court overruled the lower court, allowing Idaho to let women die, rather than terminate a pregnancy.

Luckily I don’t have a red hat.

Trump ‘blindsided’ closest advisers on Jan. 6 with Twitter post encouraging more violence

Donald Trump’s Twitter post on Jan. 6 that lashed out at former vice president Mike Pence while supporters of the now former president were trashing the U.S. Capitol both “blindsided” and infuriated some of his top advisers, reports ABC News.

According to the Sunday morning report, senior Trump advisor Dan Scavino, who normally does the posting on Trump’s social media accounts, had to defend himself when the unattended Trump made Pence a target for the rioters with a statement on Twitter, now known as X.

In one telling exchange, Scavino told investigators working for special counsel Jack Smith that the former president was informed Pence was being moved to a secure location to protect him from the rioters, only for Trump to respond, “So what?” which stunned his aides.

Worse still, ABC is reporting, Trump was left to his own devices “with his arms folded and his eyes locked on the TV,” watching the insurrection unfold and, with Scavino out of the room, attacked Pence on Twitter by writing the then VP “didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done.”

According to ABC News, “Trump’s aides told investigators they were shocked by the post. Aside from Trump, Scavino was the only other person with access to Trump’s Twitter account, and he was often the one actually posting messages to it, so when the message about Pence popped up, Cipollone and another White House attorney raced to find Scavino, demanding to know why he would post that in the midst of such a precarious situation, sources said.”

The report adds Scavino was “blindsided” by the post and was forced to tell his colleagues, “I didn’t do it.”

Lying traitor Trump is a violent psychotic and should be removed from running by the 14th amendment.
