Why would anybody want to live in those backward states? Then again I suppose they want to keep it that way so they can suffer under some of the world’s worst politicians.
I wonder what Ken Paxton would do if his own granddaughter needed an abortion to save her life. He might not be as cavalier as he is with any other Texan woman.
During the Jim Crow era (which hasn’t really ended in some places), there was a travel guide for African Americans called the Green Book, which listed places and services friendly to nonwhite Americans. Today we need a book like that for female Americans.
We should just let Texas leave. It’s a back-water state that could never support itself. My guess is that it’d quickly be taken over by Mexico. Good riddance.
I really wish everybody that truly supports a women’s right to choose would pick up and leave texas. Imagine how the state would fair if 60% of it’s population up and moved.
The woman in the news about leaving Texas to have an abortion to “save her life” is missing an important fact. Her doctor said her life was not in danger. Also, Texas law did allow for abortion if life or extreme harm was determined by the doctor.
That’s be nice, but a lot of people can’t afford to just pick up and go somewhere else. And remember, abortion laws only apply to poor women. The state will never touch a rich woman.
If Ken Paxton’s grand daughter needed an abortion he would simply call up one of his physician buddies from the country club and have it taken care of. Two different sets of laws.
This is texas, the state that claims to care so much about life, the state that takes pride in its unmatched number of executions, and where you can buy a gun at a newspaper stand.
The right-wing nutjobs wail and moan about the rights of the unborn, until the unborn make the mistake of showing up, alive, as actual people.
At some point in the near future, Texas will be home to the majority of adherents of the type of Fascism enjoyed by so many MAGA’s and other special needs Republicans.
The Supreme court based their anti abortion argument on religious principals which the Constitution forbids. Separation of church and state is most important.
trump wants the us supreme court to rule in trump’s favor and say that any crime, any crime committed by a president, while in office, is completely protected by presidential immunity, and the criminal can not be held in any way responsible for those crimes.
But how can someone want to leave Texas? In income tax (but sales tax through the roof), no gun laws, high schools with multi-million dollar football stadiums and no science labs (science =bad), and soon birth control will be illegal. Sounds like paradise to me.

Republicans need to stop their obsession with abortion. It is a losing issue.

Why would any decent, thinking person want to live in the State of Texas under dictator Abbott?

These pro-lifers want to take all “woman’s healthcare” away.
That is, stopping female specific healthcare givers from practicing.
Oooh, imagine the uproar, if, those who specialized in male problems, were shut down.
Prostate problem? No can do.
Willy gone all soggy? Sorry.
Gotta get up and pee all night? Deal with it.
And, it seems, more than a few women support this lunacy.

The right-wing authoritarians, along with love-for-sale justices thomas and alito are now trying to ban the abortion pill, mifepristone.
Why have I heard nothing about condoms, or more importantly, vasectomies being in anybody’s crosshairs?
