“Funny” how Repubs scream about gov’t interference in businesses, politics, etc. but are pushing for it in people’s personal lives, voting rights, etc.

Blocking blacks from voting was done by the Democrats. They called it slavery and Jim Crow laws.

Is this the often cited, racist statement, that Blacks and other minorities cannot get picture ID? So They cannot open bank accounts, fly on planes, drive cars legally, get booze or cigarettes, or enter certain age requirement businesses? Why? Too poor, lazy, stupid or any combination of them? Soooooo racist. If this is referring to something, else, cite proof.

They scream when Dems want to enforce the constitution but then try to pass laws to give republicans the literal power to decide who wins or loses an election. republicons want absolute power and don’t care how they get it.

I’m still marvelling at the stupidity of people who support trump’s completely attempts at staying out of jail, with his ridiculous, ongoing claims that he’s completely innocent of any crimes, while simultaneously using the money of the sucker donors, to pay the lawyers, to get judges to say presidents are immune to the crimes they commit while in office.

If he gets his wish, he and his dumba$$ supporters will be saying no matter what he does, Joe Biden is allowed to do it, without any kind of criminal investigation or prosecution.

Kind of nailed it with the cartoon today. Leaving it to the voters worked real well last time didn’t it? Going 4 years on and trump is still claiming he won.

Republicans have to lie and cheat any way that they can or they will cease to exist. Voter suppression is just one of their methods. In phone surveys, when people are given a choice on issues that affect their daily life, taken from both Republican and Democratic Party publications, those who identify themselves as Democrats agree with the Democrats about 80% of the time. Independents do too, about 58% of the time. The weird thing is that 42% of Republicans agree with the Democratic positions too, unless they are told which is which. Then they fall into line and agree with the Republicans 78% of the time. People who identify as Republicans make up somewhere between 30% and 42% of the voters, depending on the year. It’s currently way down. 78% of 42% is 33%. The Republicans would never win another national election with those odds. So, the Republicans have to keep as many people who they suspect will vote Democratic from voting as possible, and keep the rest of them confused enough to vote against their own best interests.

First political comic I’ve read today and I can already safely say it’s the best one I’ll read to today.

Barry Goldwater opposed Civil Rights for Black Americans, citing “states rights” in 1964. Here in 2023, we have Nikki Haley making the same argument that certain people are more equal than others.

I know it’s early in the year to lose my optimism, but I had hoped that at least a few of our resident trolls would learn that it is impossible to “know” things that aren’t true. But they are more pathetic than ever. What do they do, eat lead with every meal?

In 2016, Clinton got 65,844,954 votes to Trump’s 62,979,879. I guess the voters don’t count, just the number of gerrymandered districts.

Remember, Elephants, the “Supreme” Court basically handed your boy W Bush his first win.
