Sippy says: “American Carnage” … and “Day One Dictator”
Despite that he really should not be allowed to hold any office, most Democrat candidates say they do NOT want him off the ballot because that would give him too much fodder.
Orange Traitor isn’t the only one that violated his oath to The Constitution on January 6th. There are over a hundred Repubs that should have been removed from office on January 7th, 2021.
Terminate this baloney. I know of no one who has been charged and convicted of insurrection. Didn’t we also have an impeachment trial that failed on this?
Simply Red twists the words of amendments to whatever he/she wants. The 15th Amendment does not specify, for example, that the offender must have been a Confederate — though it’s worth noting that many of the people Trump encouraged on 1/6 WERE carrying Confederate flags. It states that anyone who participated in insurrection or rebellion is ineligible. Trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power is clearly an act of insurrection.
Oh, and as for the 2nd Amendment, the authors at the time noted that it referred to state militias. That’s why they first clause talks about a well-regulated militia as the purpose of the amendment.
“In the Tuesday column, he wrote, “Donald Trump received an early Christmas present courtesy of the Colorado Supreme Court.” He said that though the decision has been seen as something to be celebrated by Democrats and Trump foes, “in the longer term the ruling may well be moot.”
The columnist said, “But a perceived assault on the insurrectionist ex-president — by Democratic-appointed Colorado justices, no less — will only make him more sympathetic to the GOP base; his support in polls soared last April after the first of four indictments.”
“They’re counting on rulings such as the one in Colorado, or legal efforts underway in California and other states, to banish Trump from the ballot and end the threat of his return to the White House. But there’s no easy shortcut to short-circuit Trump’s comeback, notwithstanding the exultation over Tuesday’s court decision,” he said.
He concluded by saying, “Democrats will have to beat him at the ballot box”.
Every left-handed scheme the Democrats come up with just adds another five points to Trump’s lead.
Well done, Democrats. Keep up the good work. Don’t ever change!
The real question here is not the judgement of the Colorado Supreme Court, but the integrity of the Supreme Court the United States. Tune in again for the next exciting adventure.
If Traitor Trump had never been president (but no point crying over spilled democracies), and he tried to get a security clearance now, he would have zero chance of getting one. Because of his lifetime of dishonesty and his increasing derangement.
This just in…THE NOT-so Supreme Court REJECTED smiths request regarding trumps trial.
What a bunch of spinless, boneless, cowards….what good are they? Not much at all…anymore. What ever happened to impartial judges? Gone by the way of the DODO bird! money talks louder than words! $$$$$$
Former President Donald Trump has suggested that the Constitution be terminated in his ongoing efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. This has led to a wave of criticism from the White House and some Republicans in Congress, while GOP congressional leaders have remained silent.
Trump’s call for the termination of the Constitution was made in a post to his Truth Social platform. He cited his baseless claims of widespread election fraud in the last presidential election, stating, “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution”.
Trump demands that the USA, laws and the Constitution should be changed to accommodate his criminal ways.
Disgraced liar and bully Trump refuses to conform to American customs and laws and so is totally unworthy of being the USA president.
Trumps constant claim of fraud in our elections is a total hoax only the gullible believe.
Ever notice the Repubs say things should be decided at the ballet box, but only accept that decision when they win, not when they lose? There are two supreme court justices that shouldn’t be there, as they should not have been picked by the Repub presidents that McConnell abused the law to give them. Granted, President Obama should have fought harder for his pick. And Amy the submissive Barrett should not have been allowed to be confirmed as an election was actually already taking place. Instead we have judges that were picked, because of how in debt they were, which makes them easier to buy and own by the wealthy elite of the USA.

Your toon implies a unanimous decision. It was 4-3. Time to send it up to the Supreme Court for a final decision.

Even left-wing LA Times columnists get this.

I wonder when he is going to be convicted. You cannot execute punishment without a conviction.
Even if he is being charged with an insurrection that never happened.
