From NOT ALWAYS RIGHT: Too Much Free Time?! Oh, The Humanity!
One particular year, Christmas, Boxing Day, and the public holidays fell in a way that gave us a five-day weekend. Unfortunately for me, I worked retail, so I had no days off.
One customer entered the store and I greeted him.
Customer: “We have too many public holidays. I don’t know what to do with myself with all these days off in a row! I’m so over it.”
Me: “It must be nice to have time off over Christmas.”
That stopped him in his tracks, and I could see the cogs turning before he realised what he’d said. He actually apologized!
I’d like to think I’d appreciate the joy and enthusiasm but I’d get on his butt about how unsafe some of his hiding places are. Good think this is just a comic.
