Ummm … let’s see….do pro-lifers believe in cherishing all life? What about…wounded vets? Or vets suffering from being exposed to pit burning? …maybe they really, really care about children born with life threatening birth defects?…or mothers who are bleeding out because their doctors can no longer give them the life saving medical procedures that they need?…or the mentally ill….or…sheesh….. what a very long list of marginalized people who are in need…feel free to jump in to list your faves.

    This is good.

OH voted to make abortion legal in the constitution. They also voted to make marijuana legal. The QOP is ticked. Good.

If I told you that a certain political party would celebrate killing babies, you’d say, “Yeah, those Hamas monsters are horrible”, and I’d say, “think again”.

If I told you that a certain political party would celebrate mass shootings, killing of children, vets, minorities, and taking away the rights of anyone except themselves, you’d say “Republicans” and I’d say “Exactly”.

Beware of the waning right-wing quasi-theocratic authoritarian cohort as they feel they’re fighting for their existence and will take evermore extreme measures to have control of government.

I do wonder if the conservative crowd that makes it so very clear of their support for Israel knows what the Jewish view on abortion is. (Hint: they would not like it)

Remember, if trump wins the White House, and Republicans make gains in both houses of Congress, a nationwide ban on reproductive choice is a very real possibility.

I’m encouraged by the results last Tuesday. Take five minutes and bask in the wins. Now we have to get back to work. Reproductive rights, civil rights for LBGTQ, and a plethora of other issues are in jeopardy. Democracy and our freedoms are hanging by a thread.

    This isn’t over.

Hopefully what happened in VA is duplicated in ‘24 in the U.S. House and the Senate stays Dem so that the business of governing is actually carried out by both chambers. The House has proven itself utterly incapable of accomplishing any legislation since the Repubs took control in ’22 except for its tail chasing of the ’Biden crime family’ (their emphasis, not that of any rational person).

Every state needs to have a binding Abortion referendum. Put this issue to the people to decide, instead of pompous/righteous men

Abortion was a fine wedge issue while Roe vs Wade was the law of the land. Now, republicans have no option but to follow through with their radical positions.. or lose face. Like the dog that caught the car.. now what?

This is a clip from satirist Andy Horowitz of The New Yorker; “OHIO (The Borowitz Report)—Irate Republican officials in Ohio have been crying foul over Tuesday night’s election results, claiming that there were “widespread cases” of women voting across the state.”

“Harland Dorrinson, a G.O.P. operative in Lake County, said that he had “eyewitness accounts” of “swarms of women” standing in long lines outside of polling places.”

“Many of our poll workers spotted women going into voting booths and literally casting votes,” he said. “These were not isolated incidents.”

What we saw on Election day reflected the fact women voted.

Al Fresco: No. None for the children born and killed by gun violence, funded by Republicans to protect their NRA doners either. Or for anyone else killed by gun violence.
