For those who think “government should be run more like a business,” just remember that in the United States government, there is only one profit center: the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). That is the agency tasked with collecting the revenues that fund our government and try to rein in the enormous nation debt accrued from decades of unfunded spending and deficit liabilities by Republicans.

When Joe Biden and a (barely) Democratic congress squeaked through increased funding for IRS collections — with the restriction that increased enforcement activity would only be targeted at incomes over $400,000 ($800,000 joint filings) — the Congressional Budget Office estimated that the $14 billion investment in increased targeted enforcement would net increased revenues of more than $90 billion in taxes owed by not collected.

None of the increased collection activity would result in more audits for anyone making less than $400,000 in net income ($800,000 joint filers), and would primarily target only very wealthy incomes.

By trying to revoke this investment, MAGA Mike Johnson (the Republicans’ description) has announced loud and clear that…

    • Republicans do not care about law and order

    • Republicans do not care about annual budget deficits or the national debt

    • Republicans do not care about middle class working people who have to make up the difference when high-income millionaires and billionaires don’t pay the taxes they owe

    • Republicans only want to protect their rich mega-donors and protect the high-income tax cheats

How would you pay for aid to Israel and Ukrain and Taiwan and . . . . ? Just put it on the credit card. You think all those extra IRS agents are coming after the rich? The government never comes after the rich unless they are the opposing party. They’re coming after you, you under $400,000 tax cheats. (Biden lies).

Speaker Johnson and the rest of today’s Republican Party believe that making billionaires wealthier is a better use of taxpayer dollars than feeding hungry children. Republican Jesus is pleased.

Shouldn’t We The People’s representatives in Congress preserve/defend/fund our democracy not just their personal/party’s ideologies/supporters?

…and the “chosen people” chose Mike Johnson. As Robert Kiyosaki said in “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, the rich pay the investments to get back even more.

Maybe it’s my natural distrust of religious guys, who claim to know what GOD wants. Or perhaps a natural distrust of creepy white guys, who appear to be too good to be true. Whatever, this Shorty Johnson makes my skin crawl. I’ll bet a dozen fresh jelly donuts, this guy is dirty. Has anyone checked under his house to see what that terrible smell is?

A reference to John Wayne Gacy.

I don’t believe Johnson would say that. And it appears religion now has become the greater existential threat to some.

It’s east to understand why Biden has zero credibility when you see how the IRS and DOJ allowed his kid to collect millions in bribes and pay no taxes. And you can bet even old Joe himself did not pay taxes on those checks labeled “loan repayment”.

It does seem as though Johnson believes that the rich are blessed by God. He forgets the word of our Savior; “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the Kingdom of God.” Mark 10:25, Luke 18:25, and Matthew 19:24 all include this direct quote from Jesus Christ! Any Christian preacher who pushes a “prosperity gospel” is a false teacher!

The IRS collects Money. Handicapping the government’s ability to collect money, in order to save money, is an absolute non-sequitur, seriously ill-considered and poorly thought out. It seems evident that there is a more sinister explanation and this idea is deliberately disingenuous on the part of Johnson and his compatriots.

Mike Johnson and Tommy Tuberville make a pretty good argument for Alabama being one of the smarter states in our Union, seeing as how Alabama seems to be sending their IDIOTS out of state to Washington D.C.

You guys in Alabama DO REALIZE, don’t you, that sending your morons, idiots and imbeciles to Washington just exposes your idiocy to national scrutiny – home-grown cretins are best kept close to home and out of the wider public eye to avoid public ridicule…

How any of the insurrectionist politicians in the Republican Party are allowed to continue to be members of Congress is beyond me. It goes against the Constitution for good reason. A nation cannot be strong when there are people that are supposed to represent that nation are instead trying to destroy it. Insanity. No one, but no one should vote for any of these self serving fascist Republicans. Not even one of them. Silence is complicity, they all need to go. Beware equally compromised third party candidates.

Vote Democratic until all the traitor Repubs no longer have positions of power to destroy the USA with.

Take the robber’s money away. Why money is going to a foreign country, I cannot imagine.
