I want to complain about what Marigold explained but what will happen after that?

It’s a good thing Phoebe is willing to change her hairstyle. One time, Millie didn’t have access to her usual teal scrunchie and had to substitute with a teal one. It set off a very improbable chain of events.

    Old rhyme:

    St. Anthony, St. Anthony,

    Please come ’round;

    Something is lost

    That must be found!

    Faster:

    Tony, Tony,

    Listen, listen,

    Hurry, hurry,

    Somethin’s missin’!

Does anyone else here believe that if you get angry enough the object stops hiding?.

someone once told me that if she got mad enough she always finds what goes missing.

When I want something sometimes I cannot find it, but when I am not looking for something, there it is!

Around here, it’s the “See? I just had to whine about it” factor. For example, I’ll be waiting on a late payment from a client. I’ll finally drop them a note or a reminder call asking after it after it’s gone beyond the usual understanding patience. And boom! 9 out of 10 times it’ll be in that day’s mail! I always touch back and tell my contact they are magic!

But it works with anything I complain or fuss about: missing tech, glasses, contract go aheads, if I get frustrated enough to make even an in-office fuss about it, the problem is solved. Good thing my partner/spouse has witnessed this phenomenon for over 30 years and can laugh along with me.

The flip-side though, is the “Careful, you’ll make it happen” corollary. That’s when we’re super busy and we don’t need anything else to do. I will avoid even wondering out loud if “that project/report that was put on hold last season will ever go forward…” That invariably will make the phone ring.

I try to use my power only for good.

Marigold’s may be fantasizing, but it’s a lot less harmful than the fantasy that passing a law magically solves a problem.

She’s right; the only way evil triumphs is if good unicorns don’t complain.

Funny, prior to this moment, I was unaware that I was 100% Unicorn. Unfortunately, my complaining doesn’t produce very much magic.

If their complaining doesn’t solve the problem at hand, they should complain about their complaining failing to solve the problem.
