I was good looking when I was young; now I’m looking good (for my age?)
You don’t need to add “For your age” with someone you love.
Will admit older age does come with issues . Hair and teeth going “MIA” comes to mind ;-)
Sometimes it doesn’t have to be said, it can be implied by the way it’s said. Sometimes it’s just inferred by the listener whether the speaker meant it that way or not.
The first person to say “for someone your age” to me was my doctor.
What “Age”? The Stone Age? The Age of Enlightenment? The Age of Dinosaurs?
Youth is wasted on the young…….
“Well, bless your heart honey.”
Wouldn’t it be in terribly bad taste to add for your age to a compliment like this? Not to mention just plain rude!
Only from “catty” women.
You’ll manage through chick and thin.
The real problem comes when you don’t actually know the other’s age.
Henrietta looks god. That friend looks as dumpy as Kramer.
At least in the speakers mind, yes.
“With Old age comes Wisdom. but usually old age comes alone.”
The inference with that remark is that you don’t always look so good ;-)
I look alive. Let’s just leave it a that.
An’ tha come back is “Well, ain’t you precious, honeybunch?”
