The Repubs degenerated by adopting the philosophies of Gingrich and the attack dog tactics of Atwater in the ’80s. They completely abrogated any claims to morality and ethics by supporting a racist/sexist candidate in 2016. The U.S. public ahould be ashamed of itself for supporting and continuing to support candidates who are working to restrict their rights and make their everyday lives worse.

Reagan would be considered too liberal for today’s GOP.

St. Ronnie used a lotta the same themes. He just wasn’t as loud or destructive to the democracy, but not by much.

King Richard the Nix started the Heffalumps down the path towards Fascism, St. Ronnie the Senile accelerated them towards that goal, and The Manchurian Cantaloupe wants to take them, and the rest of America, all the way there with himself as absolute ruler for life!!

Time for the orange blob to go for the Altzheimers’ defense ploy. ‘’Huh, what, when, me, did I what?’’

2nd choice, blame the kids, never were much good anyway.

Republicans have no plans for the future, they represent the worst of the past.

The Republican Party corrupts everything they touch. Reagan went in pro union, came out the number one union basher. Although, later, and too late to matter, Reagan did admit firing all the union air traffic controllers was the wrong thing to do. So, he did do something Repubs since refuse to ever do, admit when they are/were wrong.

I think there’s more to the party of trump than just cult mentality.

It’s not ALL cult. Yes, there are people who follow him because he promises anything they want to hear, and he says the things that appeal to people who want to be selfish and racist and violent and phonily evangelical.

But there’s another faction of his followers, made up of people who latched onto him because they thought they’d found in him a way to take and take and get stacks of money and unchecked access to everything, but now they see they’re on a tiger, with rabies, and they can not dismount, and they’re afraid of him and how he can cut them off by discrediting them publicly, and worse, he can put their lives in jeopardy by giving their names to his faithful, and the lives of their families will be in danger as well.

Death threats, pipe bombs, shooting up pizza parlors and attacking people with hammers.

    Empty-headed sycophants, and terrified colleagues.

i remember reagan. pure unadulterated evil. in the navy, the officers used to joke (darkly) about how the secret service was there to protect him from his own military. dark times.

The big push in the downfall of America will be attributed to Reagan cozying up to the Religious Right (who are neither Moral or a Majority) and Gingrich’s Contract on America. Now with the cult of Trump it is accelerating

Ronald Wilson Reagan (666) – think about it
