When an exec makes more in a day or two than someone on the assembly line makes in a year it’s time for the board to rethink the system.

Ford CEO’s 2022 $21,000,000 pay divided by Ford 173,000 workers would provided each worker with $121. Ford would have accepted that deal a long time ago

You could say the same for fuel efficiency standard; making low emissions cars is not as easy as not bothering but it’s the right thing to do. But it was Trump’s tariffs on aluminum the killed the small car market in the US and really hurt the little guy.

The Federal Government needs to stop bailing out the auto industry and force them to compete in an open marketplace without unwarranted subsidies.

This will require the Big 3 to reduce their overheads — and possibly have sufficiently more $ to pay their workers. In the mean time the UAW is only going to deal the final blow to a dying industry which we taxpayers will continue to subsidize.

Bailing out the EV market is going full time with EVs. Wake Electric in North Carolina is giving free charging to EV cars at their charging stations, no matter if they are Wake Electric coop owners or not. Wake Electric must get out of this free and reduced electric rates idiotology for EV cars at the expense of higher electric bills for non-EV car owners.

I don’t why some say the big 3 are making record profits. I can’t even find the big 3 profits by year. They had lock-downs to deal with for two years, the Government is forcing EVs on them at the same time, and now this strike. Any profits come from handouts from the Government.

Oh, yes. By all means, we need to shed tears for the car companies. How can those poor CEOs make it on only $20 + million dollars a year?

Profits at Ford, General Motors and Stellantis almost doubled between 2013 and 2022, totaling $250 billion, according to the Economic Policy Institute. Over the past four years of the now-expired UAW contract, vehicle prices increased 30% and CEO pay increased 40% while worker pay increased 6%.

Do you think that electric vehicles will build themselves? Auto workers have to build electric vehicles. It doesn’t matter what comes down the assembly line, as long as there is one. Pay the workers.

Ford LOST billions on its electric vehicles. Its EV pickup is expensive AND useless AS a pickup. Its EV ‘Mustang’ is expensive AND poor quality since it’s made in Mexico. If Mexican auto workers make $12 per DAY, I’m surprised that ALL production wasn’t moved to Mexico! [Trump would have threatened Ford with tariffs on Mexican made ‘Mustangs’ to have them made in the USA instead. Of course, idiot Democrat politicians don’t approve of tariffs or FAIR trade.]

I saw a news video that claimed if the UAW got what it wanted the auto industry would probably go broke in 12 years. No, the bigwigs would move it somewhere where there is a right-to-work thing and shut the union out or just go overseas. They aren’t going to lose profits and their big salaries.

You can tell those on the right aren’t really smart. To have EV cars you have to build them and that takes workers who know how to put cars together. Having an electric engine, just may take a little retraining but jobs are not lost with the mandates.

23 million people, more than the population of Florida, are now exposed to toxic water runoff from metal mining.

The report warns of the devastating impacts of the reckless transition to “green” energy.

The demand for mining for minerals needed for electric-powered vehicle batteries has polluted 500,000km of rivers and destroyed 16 million acres of farmland.

The researchers found that 23 million people worldwide, as well as 5.72 million in livestock, over 16 million acres of irrigated farmland, and over 297,800 miles worth of rivers, have been contaminated by mining’s toxic byproducts seeping into the water.

This metal mining includes many so-called “rare earth elements” essential to the manufacture of high-tech solar cells, wind turbines, and the batteries needed to store sustainable “green” energy.

While the new study focuses on environmental impacts, global metals mining has recently faced shocking lawsuits against major tech firms, including Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Tesla.

The companies have been accused of supporting child slavery in the Congo, where 70 percent of the industry’s cobalt is sourced.-Slay
