I thought they had decided not to swim? Apparently Mrs. D decided to brave it. Mr. D, not so much. If I were him, I’d just redress, and go get warm. If she wants to swim, fine.
You are absolutely correct on this judgement, Leory!! I’d know the difference anywhere as well due to the fact of having owned a series of paperback collections before my brother sold them away (grr!!) when he & his wife helped me relocate to Leominster some short years ago soon after our mother’s death!!
I grew up near the coast of Maine (50s-70s) …. when I went swimming I’d just take a deep breath and run right in …… sometimes the sudden shock was a little rough but after a few minutes it wasn’t bad at all …… :)
In my water aerobics class one woman sits on the ladder blocking it for at least five minutes while she gets the nerve to enter the pool. Fortunately there is another ladder.

Is this an old comic? The artwork looks different.

Well, I would just linger barfoot, but otherwise fully dressed, at the wash margin. I would be looking for hag stones and be chewing seaweed.

OMG! Look at how badly Mrs. Dear is drawn. So basic.

I’m still with Mr. Dear on this one.

Water temps in the Atlantic off of Florida are well over 90. Get ready for some storms, folks!

The water temperature today at Orange Beach, AL is 28.8°C / 83.8°F. Come on in. The water’s fine! (Ignore the sharks.)

I just realized something – with “Fred” in reruns now, not only will we not see the kitty any more, we’ll never get a name for her!
