That like saying we should have a men’s day

That makes no sense because even though women take up 52% of the population they’re under represented in society

Same for mother and fathers day vs singles day which are a small subset of society vs 60% of the population

How much of their waking hours do sensitive conservatives spend looking for grievances and complaining about how they are oh so offended. Whine, whine.

There are men and women of the original LGB community who want to remain distinct, and even separate from the other letters of the alphabet soup.

Having Pride month evolve into Pride Year with more and more people and businesses losing that old time religious homophobic and transphobic ideology certainly must be tiring for christian conservatives.

I honestly don’t care with whom consenting adults (key words ‘consenting’ and ‘adults’) choose to bed down. That’s private business. But don’t expect me to approve of their selected partners, nor to stand and wave a flag when any faction’s parade goes by.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction; I find that an understatement, that caused escalation on acts and reacts. I will agree that June 28, should be designated for celebrating LGBT, etc. etc. etc.; but the whole month, what was bill clinton smoking that day; he should have shared?

People are fighting back against politicians’ homophobia

As homophobic and transphobic rhetoric ramps up as the far-right tries to pin society’s problems on LGBTQ people, it’s looking like people beyond the GOP’s base are fighting back.

Attempts by Republican politicians to ban drag shows and gender-affirming care have recently been struck down in court. Earlier this month, a Trump-appointed judge struck down a Tennessee law that would have banned drag shows in public where children are present. U.S. District Judge Thomas Parker ruled the ban unconstitutional, saying it violated the First Amendment. Parker added that the law’s stated intent of protecting children from indecency was likely unnecessary, due to the existence of anti-obscenity laws, Newsweek reported.

Florida’s ban on gender-affirming care was also struck down this month, according to the AP. U.S. Circuit Judge Robert Hinkle, appointed by former President Bill Clinton, sided with the parents of transgender children, ruling that there was no reason to deny treatment.

“Gender identity is real. The record makes this clear,” he said, adding that those who think gender is a choice "tend to disapprove all things transgender and so oppose medical care that supports a person’s transgender existence.”

“The treatment will affect the patients themselves, nobody else,” Hinkle said, “and will cause the defendants no harm.”

This far-right hate group is ‘lurking behind efforts’ to ‘roll back’ LGBTQ and abortion rights: report

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the far-right Christian fundamentalist legal group Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF). A long list of Religious Right organizations had gained considerable influence in the Republican Party by the time ADF was founded in 1993, from Focus on the Family to the late Rev. Pat Robertson’s Christian Coalition to the Family Research Council. But ADF, formerly the Alliance Defense Fund, was focused specifically on pushing anti-gay and anti-anti-abortion laws.In an article published by The Guardian on June 19, journalist Adam Gabbatt stresses that ADF is still well-funded and has “extended its tentacles into nearly every area of the culture wars.”

Let’s face it we are after all humans blessed/cursed with emotions and those feeling associated with them; we are all bigoted in some manner, it is how we address our bigotry that makes us different. We are all unique individuals who bless/curse our children with what we express about life and other people. People do things we don’t like, so what, we also do things they don’t like, equality. But we as adults should take the responsibility for our actions, and reactions.

For all those who say ‘go find somewhere else’ that DOES NOT mean you get make threats and change that place to ‘somewhere else’. Heads up, this site has rules against bigotry, including LGBT+: https://www.gocomics.com/help/comment_policy

I doubt the site admin will cave to threats of shooting up a website (and they know to call the FBI and police if they had a threat to aphysical place).

The first amendment was never intended to be used to rescind others, including for certain groups of people. It was intended to keep the government from retaliating against verbal attacks on the government.

Notice that if you replace LGBT+ with any other marginalized group (people needing healthcare including BC, veterans, poor people, various races facing systemic racism still, college students needing freedom from greedy people who had it easy themselves, kids who need to be able to eat, the homeless, victims of police abuse) and the rhetoric wouldn’t be ‘stop saying we need to admit you have rights—we are NOT going to educate ourselves about what this month means’ to ‘you certainly DO have rights and we should help you.’
