I wonder if anyone has ever done a study on the costs [e.g., time, money, effort] spent establishing blame (e.g., finding who to blame and proving it) compared to the costs involved in identifying and fixing a problem. Politics aside, as a species we seem much more concerned with personal ego than with cleaning up messes or solving problems.

What constitutes ‘quick’ action by our government is a little shy of the speed of the glaciers.

Yup, that’s what grown-ups do, alright!

Just like the government. In 50 or 60 years it will sort itself out or it won’t be our problem anymore.

When I was a kid my folks lived in an area that had a fair amount of open space. I dug a lot of holes.

The news would show a cat doing two hind-leg sweeps to cover a tootsie roll and proclaim that therefore “both sides” do it.

Dogs dig holes to bury food.

Cats build hills to bury waste.
