I guess Lester didn’t hear the chairman’s responses to this very charge. Basically, he stays in Florida to try and effect positive change. Seems pretty reasonable to warn others off visiting while working to make things better. Oh wait, now I get what Lester can’t understand!

“Let me be clear — failing to teach an accurate representation of the horrors and inequalities that Black Americans have faced and continue to face is a disservice to students and a dereliction of duty to all,” NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson said in a statement.

“Under the leadership of Governor Desantis, the state of Florida has become hostile to Black Americans and in direct conflict with the democratic ideals that our union was founded upon,” Johnson added. __ The Hill

The Chairman loves living in Florida or he’d leave. Since inception, the NAACP opinion of all white people, has never changed. Why? Because money. Period. Kiss my grits.

identify the most dangerous cities, we considered the following criteria:1. Violent crime rates: This includes homicide, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault rates per 100,000 inhabitants.2. Property crime rates: These include burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft rates per 100,000 inhabitants.3. Total crime rates: A combination of both violent and property crime rates per 100,000 inhabitants.

Based on the criteria mentioned above, here are the top 10 most dangerous cities in the United States:

    1. St. Louis, Missouri2. Detroit, Michigan3. Baltimore, Maryland4. Memphis, Tennessee5. Little Rock, Arkansas6. Milwaukee, Wisconsin7. Cleveland, Ohio8. Albuquerque, New Mexico9. Kansas City, Missouri10. Stockton, California

NAACP has a fair point, given recent developments. I can’t blame their chairman for not instantly pulling up sticks and moving; it’s very costly and disruptive to one’s life to move house. It’s like all the people who say “if you don’t like the abortion laws in Texas, MOVE!” But it’s really not that simple. If you’re planning a vacation, it’s easy to plan to have that vacation somewhere else. But if you live there, well, you’re already pretty committed to the place.

But maybe that’s not something Lester understands, the idea of commitment? Maybe he lives in his parents’ basement and doesn’t have to pay any bills? Seems unlikely at his age, but who knows?

FLORIDA FUN FACTS: Florida has moved to the number one spot in the United States for black-owned businesses and number two for Hispanic and number two for women-owned businesses. -Black unemployment in Florida stood at 3.8 percent by the end of 2022, far lower than the national average of 6.1 percent, or California’s of 7.5 percent. -Florida has one of the largest black populations in the country—it has grown from 1.9 million to 3.2 million in the last 30 years. -I don’t blame the guy for telling blacks to stay out of Florida. He’s not stupid.

If I have a family member who calls me names, mocks me, and then declares s/he/they/we will not visit my home again because s/he/they/we perceive me as a threat……. that decision is ok with me.
