Are they grave stones or empty “commandment” tablets?

Alito is gravely offended that the Court is being criticized for being partisan.

He plans to give a speech with more details when he appears at the next Republican convention.

Maybe this time, he will take Thomas along, since Scalia is gone.

Exactly. They are a law unto themselves, and feel they are beholden to no one.

This may not actually be too surprising, how is that code of conduct idea actually going in most aspects of this country, I think it is ironic how Americans may still feel we are exceptional and that God favors us, most fallen nations thought that too, why study history when humans seem to ignore it’s lessons?

“ If Men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and the next place, oblige it to control itself.”James Madison, Federalist Papers It seems they believed that Supreme Court Justices would be angels. We’ve found out they are just men !!

Through sheer force of will on the right — and mind-numbing complacency on the left — these two have virtually expired and what’s missing is the official date to be chiseled onto the gravestones.

Does the Supreme court in the States have no code of conduct?

I read it as commandment tablets and I hope the American people see what is going on. All of the last six years have been part of a step-by-step process to overthrow the government. One aspect has been the GOP screaming about the Dems packing SCOTUS, as the GOP packed SCOTUS. SCOTUS, in turn, now feels no need to hide the fact that it is a branch of the Republican Party. One hallmark of the current Republican Party? No ethics.

SCOTUS has no enforcement powers. That is the job of the Executive Branch. The Justice Dept. can/should subpoena Roberts to appear before the Senate’s inquiring committee. If he declines, then arrest him for violating the subpoena and compel him to testify. If he still declines, then we have a long-due constitutional crisis – of SCOTUS’s own making.

Clay Bennett, I was confused as well, until your comment cleared it up. One little uncertainty in an ongoing streak of genius is completely forgiveable. Greetings from an enthusiastic Danish reader.
