IN an armchair or chair with arms…

    ON a chair, without arms…

American uses a different preposition for “weekend” too…

Panel one: “on your chair”; “I am”; that should’ve raised Mom’s hackles right there and re-preposition to “in”. Advantage … Alice!

My mother had an unruly student who was standing up on his chair. She told him to sit down. He complied and gave the following retort: I’m sitting down but on the inside I’m standing up!

She was on her chair, and now she is IN trouble. Next she’ll be laying on her bed with no dessert in her stomach.

Karma. You deserved that owie, Alice! No sympathy for the fidgety disobedient pre-schooler, who might have destroyed an expensive kitchen chair….
