Sadly in many churches, that may be the only way people are aware of their sins. The sweater-vested Khaki pleated preachers and “Father Smiley”-types in the catholic church are AFRAID of talking about sin. They don’t want to scare people out of the pews. But instead of lovingly educating people about the harm they do to themselves and their souls through sin, they are allowing their parishioners to miss the opportunity for confession, repentance and redemption/salvation through Christ.
We need more TRUTH in the church and less “Love is love” happy talk.
To see more TRUTH go see the movie NEfarious this week in theaters. See what demonic possession looks like after opening the door to demonic influence through sins that grow in seriousness. The “R” rating is a tactic by Hollywood to drive down viewers. No Sex, obscenity or gore. This is a psychological thriller more accurately labelled PG-13. Miss the previews for 15 minutes as they are R rated. NEFARIOUS in theaters now. See the price of sin.
Wow – a lot of animosity here today! And – anyone else want to post (without reading previous comments) that the clergy should also go through the detector?

Does the sin involve bringing weapons into church?

Sodality: a confraternity or association, especially a Roman Catholic religious guild or brotherhood. Love the comics for its educational properties.

God thing it’s not a metal detector. Those right wingers all think you should bring guns to church.

It would be going off forever, because we ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Even thinking of sin is a sin according to the Bible.

a waste of money in my opinion.

He who has no god, has no sin; only responsibility for his actions. Good or bad.
