File: It’s under the thought that counts…because you’re probably not going to be able to count the money you loaned him being repaid.

I haven’t lent money since the eighties. It was only five bucks, but it took a month of pay days to get it back.

Today’s lesson. Never lend money to a guy named Morty. Because Morty can’t ‘afforty’ to pay you back because he likely has a huge Mort gagey on his shoulders

Still better than the ones who pretend to forget they owe you or even start avoiding you.

That’s okay Morty, I’ll send my cousin Vinny to get the $30 from you on Friday. Oh and funny thing, if he has to hurt you and come back it’ll be $40. Anyways, nice chat. See ya around.

I never loan out money I can’t afford to lose. If I choose to loan money to a person the first time is always a small amount and as soon as I loan it out, I consider it gone. If the person pays me back and later needs to borrow more, I’ll consider it. If they don’t pay it back, I won’t loan them any thing after that.

If I “loan” someone $20, I usually do so in the expectation I’ll never see it again…haven’t been wrong many times thinking such, but sometimes I get surprised.

Whenever I loan anyone money I just chalk it up in my mind that it was a gift. Less angst doing it that way. If it get’s repaid then it’s found money.

Brutus, you should tell by his sharpie hat that you’ll never see that twenty again, nor its duplicate (ie, not the original twenty you lent him)…

Remembering the debt is the next best thing. However, I would write it off myself as he has more than likely picked up the tab on meals and such and $20 is really nothing. Now if it was $2,000.00, that would be a much different story…..

I might believe he would pay it back if he at least offered a potential payback date.

A month and he can’t come up with $20?! Say goodbye to your money Brutus. Nice of him to remember at least. Given yesterday’s strip maybe he can give our hero memory lessons.
