Obama tightened regulations on rail transit. Trump reversed many of them. And then we had train wrecks.

Obama tightened regulations on the financial sector with reforms that included Dodd-Frank and its Consumer Financial Protection Agency. Trump, while he still had majorities in both the Senate and House, rolled back much of them, including specifically regulations that would have included medium-sized banks such as Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.

SVB did not fail because of “woke” policies (whatever that means, though “woke” is clearly preferable to its opposite, “comatose”). It failed because it was narrowly concentrated on a tech-focused clientèle instead of a broader or more diverse base, and too heavily concentrated its investments in the bond sector, oblivious to rising interest rates, instead of more diverse investments in a variety of stocks, bonds and real estate like most banks.

Signature did not fail because of “woke” policies but because of risky investments in crypto, right before that illusory chimera vanished into the digital ether.

SVB took risks with depositors’ money in order to enrich themselves by increasing profits.

And even if their gambles had won, depositors were NEVER going to share in the winnings.

    .

But, yeah, get rid of those awful regulations that protect depositors and those who live by railroads.

    Because freedom.

Funny how the Heffalumps will take ALL the credit when something works, whether they voted AGAINST IT or not, but NONE of the blame when something that THEY SUPPORTED turns out to be an utter disaster…

I recall a story of a household with four kids and a dog. When someone broke a vase, each kid blamed the next in line. The youngest kid had no one else, so he blamed the dog. When the Heffalumps are told that Orange T’s deregulations had a lot to do with these disasters, instead of accepting the responsibility, they ask why Biden didn’t restore them. Take responsibility for what your man did, and stop blaming someone else.

Ohio is suing the train co!

People are getting sick from the air and soil…Slow going process is driving people from their homes…their lives are a disaster…☹️☹️☹️

Meanwhile the CEO of the train co lives ina modest Multi million dollar home out of state and couldn’t care less….he also donated millions to the GOP in Ohio, right before the accident in East Palestine, Ohio

The DOJ needs to haul Traitor Carlson’s fat azz in and make him testify under oath about his gaslighting attempts. (No intelligent person would ever fall for those, but of course the target audience of the Fox Propaganda Channel is racist grade school dropouts.)

I am sure that funding rail maintenance would have helped…

I am sure that not making risky investments would have helped…
