My dad and I once talked about what we’d memorize if they burned all the books. He chose Don Quixote and I picked The Poseidon Adventure. (I was eleven at the time . . .)
FWIW, when the shelves are that bare, it means that the library only fears that a lot of books wouldn’t pass muster, not that they’re actually banned yet. Or else someone wants to make the official restrictions look worse than they really are.

By the end of next week, everyone will have it memorized.

Are they burning the books as they memorize them?

What a sad state of affairs we’ve come to. What is so free and brave about book bannings and menstrual police?

I’d like to wish that those empty shelves mean everybody borrowed many books but wouldn’t bet too much on it…

I’d advise The Hobbit.

She could probably afford to run down to Wal-Mart, grab a few cheapo Android tablets and load up 451 ebooks.
But that wouldn’t be as funny.

Pretty advanced group. I wonder what they haven’t read (or had read to them?).

Memorized it. Awesome she’s “Ray Bradbury”. (Hint, see last chapter of the book.)
