A long time coming

Adam’s deserves the censure. Perhaps even more so because he took the bait of looking at responses in an intentionally poorly worded question that was contextually undefined.

Dilbert was once among my favorite comics. I stopped reading it when it became apparent that he had a man-crush on Elon Musk in a few arcs.

The smart thing to do would have been to leave it alone. The people claiming it’s not ok to be white would be the only racists. Commenting on it in the manner that Adams did opened himself up to absorb the criticism that should have been aimed solely at the anti-white crowd. Now, they’re getting a free pass and Adams is being canceled. I should look for the entire set of comments from Adams, as it’s possible looking at the entire context might change things a bit. Could make them worse, too, but the cherry-picking of comments and ignoring context has become common. I don’t know what he was thinking, to comment at all. Dumb.

Finally, Eraseism rules over racism! Beautiful

It was consistently funny.

If they poll that inspired Adams’ comment is being correctly conveyed, the other unfortunate outcome here is that the brouhaha over his comment has obliterated evidence of the fact that racism is a two-way street. Not recognizing that is going to perpetuate the problem.

Imagine the nerve of Adams making such racist comments about all blacks. Who does he think he is? Robin DiAngelo?

Certain demographics can commit crimes, but the media will never talk about them.Other demographics can commit crimes and the media will give consistent coverage.

I stopped reading him many years ago. I heard an interview with him on NPR maybe during which he was asked a question about the goal or point of Dilbert. Adams replied, “the goal is to take money out of your pocket and put it in mine.” I never read Dilbert again.
