Earl should get frequent visitor points for his trips to Roscoe’s house!

Where does Earl normally put his ready-to-use socks? On the floor?

idk if this is a guy thing but mine does the same thing, He’ll look for something and insist it’s just not to be found and I’ll see it immediately right where he was looking! just yesterday he claimed he’d looked through the entire refrigerator and we simply didn’t have BBQ sauce, ofc there was a bottle of it in the fridge door just like there always is lol

My guy puts his own laundry away. After he does all the laundry. Sigh. I am a lucky lady.

This happened when my wife and I first got together. I’m ex-military so I know how to drive a washer and dryer and can take an iron out for a spin. We were sitting on the bed chatting and folding a fresh load out of the dryer and she was somewhat intrigued by how I, according to her, was meticulous folding certain items. When my stuff was folded I reached over and started folding some of her clothes, when we were done we started putting things away in the dresser and closet. I put her neatly folded undies in her underwear drawer then she nonchalantly walked over and fluffed all her underwear till it was to her satisfaction then slowly and deliberately closed the aforementioned drawer, turned toward me with one of those “What’er you gonna do about it look” on her face. Time froze for a moment. The curtains rustled by the open window. Birds were singing in the trees. In the distance, a dog barked. Then we both collapsed on the bed, not just giggling or guffawing, but screaming we were laughing so hard! And yes, she does now fold her undies. Tru story!

They were in plain sight. It just wasn’t in quite the right plain-sight direction he was looking.

If I can’t find something, I ask my wife. She generally shows it to me, like right in my face. Here!

Earl, recognizing the problem is halfway yo fixing it. The other half is the walk of shame to the doghouse.

It’s Opel’s fault. Ever since she stopped Earl alphabetizing his socks he can’t find a thing. https://www.gocomics.com/pickles/2023/03/20?ct=v&cti=2112925

I am surprised Earl didn’t accuse Opal of having moved his socks. She did, from the dirty laundry into his drawer. He probably considers going to take a nap as “in the doghouse” anyway. Either way, it was nice to see them get along today. I wonder if they usually do on Sundays. Anyone ever notice? I didn’t think of it until today, and I have been reading this comic for many, many years.

Don’t be fooled, Earl. She had them hidden in her apron so she could “produce” them in the drawer by sleight of hand.

My Grandmother went to town (Maine town where everyone know everyone else), she came home and about an hour later the Sheriff showed up and asked if either of my Grandparents had been to town, my Grandfather said yes, my Grandmother had been …. he then asked if he could see the car …….. turned out she drove home someone else’s car ….. same make, color, style and her key started it but when the owner went to start my Grandparents car it wouldn’t work ……. My Grandparents drove the car back to town and traded cars ……. everyone was happy ……. one advantage of living in a small town, the Sheriff had a good idea what happened …… of course that was back in the late ’70’s early ’80’s ….. :)

Earl doesn’t handle the laundry – at all. Opal put them in the drawer after picking them up off the floor, putting them in the laundry basket, toting them to the washer and washing them. Then she put them in the dryer, removed and matched them, the placed them in the drawer where they belonged.

Many years ago, I used to shop at a local mall, and I always parked in the same location around on the back side of the mall. One time, though, I had to take my sewing machine in for service, so I parked near the Singer store. I shopped until the mall was about to close then went out to the parking lot and my car was GONE. I looked everywhere for it, then finally called the police. In about ten minutes the police called me to the other side of the mall…by Singer…and there was my car. Talk about embarrassed!
