You could tell Lucy to ‘put a lid on it’ but someone has already done it!

Very, very rare to see Lucy and Marcie together. Also, note that Marcie calls her “Lucille”, just like Peppermint Patty does.

Lucile isn’t a psychologist for nothing!

Well, at least the ‘hand shake line’ didn’t come down to a sucker punch, as done recently in a women’s BB tournament.

I can just imagine how having matching caps could make a group of kids feel like a real team. And how other groups might envy them.

What about finishing up the arc with Snoopy’s foot in a cast? Maybe that starts tomorrow.

Especially given the smug look Lucy had in that second panel!

Lucy Van Pelt and Marcie Johnson is a rare team up in this strip and from what I can tell, they seem to get along well.

Patty and Marcie dress in shirts and shorts like the guys, but the girls in Charlie Brown’s neighborhood still wore dresses, even when playing baseball.

I suspect Lucy overheard their conversation and gave Marcie a “tweak” on it. ;-)

If you are going to lose, lose in style.

Looks like a social class divide. Marcie, PP, and Franklin live in a poorer neighborhood (and attend a school where the ceiling occasionally leaks on PP).

Lucy to Marcie: “You won the game but I will have a degree. And you’ll be serving my kids fries at a drive-through on our way to a skiing trip.”

This is so like most kids that age. Winning really isn’t everything. Now great clothing: that’s where it’s at. I’ve refereed that age in soccer. While their skills left much to be desired, they were all so adorable.

She’s so hurt by that. It’s pretty funny.

My daughters paternal grandmother was named LUCILLE and she was strongly corrected for calling her LUCY.

I DO like Marcie (Patty not so much).

Marcie looks like she can bust a cap

And in this case caps mean uniforms. Which makes the losing team look more professional.

Let’s see, if they’ll show all the crazy hats Marcie makes for her team.
