Is this a reflection of the actual state of renewable vs. finite resources with questionable environmental impact, or is the artist trapped in the 1990’s and unable to comprehend anything more modern than that? It s a mystery.

How come the NG car doesn’t show what they get from the goverment.

If California mandated all renewable energy, their grud would fail to provide sufficient power. If just 10 percent of all vehicles in Cali were electric only, it would melt down their power grid. All electric has no real future until we go full nuclear or fusion. At the current rate of power grid update, it would take over 200 years to sufficiently have the grid that could handle even a mostly electric vehicle country. Now factor in how long it takes to permit and build a dingle power plant and where does that leave you? If California stopped buying fossil fuel electricity from other states, they’d have to enforce massive rolling blackouts which would cripple business and cost lives.

The climate hucksters always seem to ignore just how much fossil fuels drive the electric grid. Switching to EVs makes the CO2 problem worse.

But they never let the truth get in the way of their goals.

We who live here in the 21st century laugh as much at those who cling to expensive gas and dirty oil as we do those who insist willingly inhaling cigarette smoke into their lungs in public is cool.

I’m pro-choice. If one wants to spend $20K extra on an EV then go for it. Just don’t tell me via government fiat that I have to buy one, they don’t meet my budget nor my needs.

Best to buy all the solar equipment to charge your EV to truly consider oneself emissions free, as the electricity here and many other places is produced from fossil fuels.

One dirty little secret the climate hucksters never mention is that batteries eventually need replacement. A battery replacement for a Tesla costs between $13,000-$20,000. The recent replacement battery for my 6-year-old car that gets 40mpg cost $145. And all these big batteries need proper disposal too!

The right-wing official who served as budget director for the Trump administration is reportedly playing a significant advisory role for House Republicans as they seek to leverage a fast-approaching debt ceiling crisis to enact spending cuts that would disproportionately impact low-income households. According to The Washington Post, former Office of Management and Budget chief Russ Vought “has emerged as one of the central voices shaping the looming showdown over federal spending and the national debt.”

The 8 trillion republicans gave rich people could have bought the USA a high speed train system.

Never mind my first Comment. I was confusing Natural Gas Powered Cars with HYDROGEN powered cars. THOSE emit water. Oddly an article just appeared in a newsfeed I look at that explained that. Hydrogen power is out of favor because it emits Nitrogen Oxide which is bad for crops, is VERY expensive to produce, is difficult to store and distribute and doesn’t produce much engine power.

Don’t see very many “natural gas” vehicles or filling stations. Hydrogen has potential but there are few filling stations, propane turned out to be a dud.

The problem with hydrogen as fuel is that splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen requires more energy than is produced by burning the hydrogen. The second law of thermodynamics strikes again.

LOL!! Natural gas is NOT an efficient way to power a motor vehicle – especially a race car!

CH4 + O2 makes H2O and CO2. CO2 is not something we need more of so no Gary it is not “clean”

Natural gas is dirtier than coal because of the methane leakage during production and delivery. If you’re racing towards extinction, natural gas is your fastest fuel.

Readers should be reminded that given his age Mr. Varvel likely learned how to drive in a 1949 Chevrolet Stylemaster that got 12.5 mpg. Old habits are hard to let go.
