The failure to have a intelligent collaborative moderated functional Congress caused by allowing self-destructive mutually-exclusive binary partisanship to persist and grow … indeed delivers the government we deserve.
When something bad occurs, leftists are predictable. They jump to conclusions, armchair quarterback the situation even when devoid of knowledge on the subject, blame their political opponents, and often end up being wrong. The Duke Lacrosse rape case was a textbook example.
I’ll await a report from the NTSB. They are one of the very few agencies in the federal government that I still trust.
Big Bidness doesn’t mind being criticized for its sins as long as RepubliKKKans continue to allow them to throw around their lobbying money to fund their drive towards puritanical fascism.
Once again, the train disaster, 80 miles from me was trumps fault for deregulating safety ☹️☹️☹️…..bought and paid for by crooked politicians in America!
The republican owned supreme court gave big business a free pass with their citizens united decision. Since then the flood gates have opened and unlimited wealth has flowed into the pockets of mostly republican politicians. The pay back is wages for the workers are kept low, no or few corporate regulations, and low or no taxes on the multinational corporate owners of the world. Murdoch’s propaganda media outlets and Fox News wannabe media outlets have insured that a good number of non thinking and gullible people keep republicans in power. A majority of the voters in East Palestine voted republican in every election since Reagan. People get what they vote for.
My first thought when I saw the hotbox video was how much worse things could have been if that hotbox had been under one of the full tankers instead of a hopper…
During the previous administration, brake inspections on trains were deemed to be costly and burdensome to stockholders. The time interval between class 1 off air brake inspections went from a four hour interval to a 24 hour interval, 6 times the previous proven safe inspection interval. Forged into DOT 49 CFR law for trains in December of 2020 weakening the vital brake inspection period for profit based purposes. Who was in charge during that period?
what’s entirely predictable is that dc swamp will inevitably show up and say something snotty (because, of course, the best way to get others to see your point of view is to insult them)…
Remember those big stacks of regulations tRump did his photo op with when he deregulated them all?
Regulations should not be made unless an industry or business refuses to regulate themselves. We saw that in 2008 when the deregulation of the Glass-Steagall Act by Bush and Republicans took us into the worst crash since 1929. The first thing Wall Street did was go back to banking ‘creatively’ and it cost us all. Regulations protect WE, the People.
This did not happen due to deregulation, the problem is that the tracks were not maintained. Instead, the Secretary of Transportation was more concerned about racist bridges and making sure construction workers had enough melanin to worry about maintaining rails.

Do you think Kevin’s House of Insurrection is going to make any bills to fund rail road safety?
No they want to be divisive and blame Biden instead of the RR company.

The QOP is really getting me angry. It’s no wonder that I vote blue now. (I was raised to vote red – conservative family).

Those brakes were good enough for 1870’s steam locomotives with about a dozen cars, so why not now? Tried and true technology. It’s a mystery.

Further proof that businesses won’t act in a responsible manner without proper government regulations.

I remember how the MAGAts all cheered whenever Trump “deregulated” some measure that safeguarded the American public.
There is something very wrong with those people.

Rubio is demanding the resignation of Buttigieg for deregulations he no doubt supported under TFG. Such hypocrisy.

Stop trying to haul 100 cars at a time. Imagine how long it takes the brakes to reach that last car!
