So sad that 50% of the country accepts the notion of Biden driving right at the truck. Democrats are lemmings.

Not nonsensical. It’s just plain stupid.

So you didn’t like the speech, but feel his policies are headed in the right direction.

Your votes have consequences, doncha know? Next time, think it through a little better.

As long as Democrat policies and projections continue to progress our country into the future, Republicans will continue to tantrum.

So, what is the wrong way? against the corporate state? against fascism? What?

Feeding his base

Even the dinosaur media cannot ignore it.

NBC News: The 71% of Americans in our latest NBC News poll saying the country is headed in the wrong direction is the eighth time in the last nine NBC News surveys dating back to Oct. 2021 when the wrong track has been above 70%.

And the one exception was in Sept. 2022, when it was 68%.

We have never before seen this level of sustained pessimism in the 30-year-plus history of the poll.

Being a political cartoonist must be a dream job. You can vent general complaints, not have to prove anything, nor even reveal what you’re drawing about.

Gary, just curious… does the sun rise in the East where you live?

Trying to lead a transition toward a greener economy and all of the jobs associated with that (and maybe leading the world) is the “wrong way”? Trying to make the US less dependent on foreign countries for computer chips is the “wrong way”? Offering to work with the GOP to solve our country’s problems is the “wrong way”?

So, the “right way” would be continued dependence on fossil fuels with all of its environmental and blood/treasure cost, being dependent on foreign sources for computer chips and not attempting to work with the opposition party. Is that correct?

The thing is that we never hear about the way Republicans want to go. It’s almost as if they are afraid to tell us.

Another ‘toon that’s kept in the “I have nothing so let’s go back to the usual” file.

A strong contender for more inane than Lisa Benson’s strip today.

Gary should’ve taken today off.

I once heard a minister say that if ministers were completely honest they occasionally would announce to the congregation at sermon time that they were completely without inspiration this morning and the congregation should all go home.

I guess that applies to cartoonists too.

Mixed message at best, total not making sense

Of course a GQP would view lowering unemployment and rising DOW and GDP as the “wrong way”…

Employment up.

Inflation heading down.

S&P 500 Monthly Return is at 6.18%, compared to -5.26% last year.

And President Biden made the Republican Crazy Caucus look like idiots at the State Of The Union.

I think the policies are working.

Unemployment is historically low.

Millions of jobs have come on line.

Inflation is slowing.

Americans are personally doing okay economically.

The vast majority of people are happy with their quality of life.

The stock market is doing fine.America’s GDP continues to grow.

But Biden has ‘ruined’ the economy.

It’s also good to remember that the stock market tripled during the Obama administration.

Varvel, of course, isn’t making any specific complaints, just generalized condemnation of Biden. Varvel just misses His Messiah telling him things are just grand, over and over.

This doesn’t actually make any criticisms. It is a cartoon equivalent of calling someone names on a playground. If you treat your criticisms as unnecessary to specifically state, they usually just exist in your head, based on you own confirmation bias and ideology.

We are all being taken for a Biden ride.

It’s the cartoon equivalent of Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ response: “Be afraid, be very afraid”.

You can draw it, but that doesn’t make it so.

State of the Union did not bring down the price of groceries. Price of cars are $10,00.00 higher than last year. Fuel prices are still high. Border is not secure Illegals coming over and never following criteria for citizenship. Fentanyl drug is coming from China and dispersed across the border. Our military is under paid and understaffed. Our Vice President a joke. POTUS most of the time can not find his way to the podium or be able to find his way through any addressing the reporters. FBI is Corrupt as when J. Edgar Hoover was director. A Chinese Spy Balloon fly’s 2 days over Pacific waters, then flies from Alaska to US mainland gathering all information of US military, and POTUS & JCS are unable to figure how to stop it, until it gets to the Atlantic Ocean. Now Media is saying Chinese have flown these balloons for over 5 years….and no one has been able to stop them! Oh and an F-22 has a cruising range of 88,000 ft where Balloon was at 80,000 ft (another lie from JCS.)

disregarding the previous commenter’s other lies, many more immigrants who are in the u.s. illegally have overstayed their visa than crossed the border with mexico (drugs also mostly come in through legal ports of entry, not across the borders)…
