Regardless of people pointing out things like this to speciously prove racism is gone, we are still a country with a lot of deeply entrenched bigotry that negatively impacts a lot of people’s lives.

They should have attended, but I understand the concern. With all the gun violence these days in the US, showing up would be taking a genuine risk to life and limb for whoever did it. People are angry. And angry people these days have an unfortunate habit of shooting multiple people.

Obviously I know why he called him a diversity hire. As a gay man, I find the characterization offensive.

I actually don’t think Trump actually cares at all about people being gay or not. He is way too self-involved to concern himself with minutia like that. As long as someone is willing to slavishly kowtow to him, he doesn’t care. But he is very willing to throw LGBT people under the bus to satisfy his very bigoted base voters. And that is a problem for me. But to be fair, if LGBT people represented a larger voting block than bigoted conservatives, I’m sure Trump would be willing to throw bigoted conservatives under the bus to get LGBT votes.

I saw a woman have a fit at a CVS when she found out the pharmacy didn’t open when the store opened. Felt sorry for the employee she yelled at.
