They’ve only played like two games, so who cares that they’re undefeated?

Hey, it’s a Mudlarks winning streak of (checks notes) four games! wOOt! (Only one thing: why did that last-second shot count if the ball was still in his hand when the buzzer went off..?)

P 2.5 (narrator): “…is this because long-time coach Gil Thorp is not involved in the day-to-day coaching duties anymore?……many in this town seem to believe so and welcome this change as well…more at 11…”

I’ve got to get that whole “Playing with Less Urgency but Being Undefeated” formula to my Dallas Cowboys.

So, the UGH in P2 is from hitting the girders of the roof?? Or a foul?

Milford travels to Arizona to play the Pueblo Warriors. How did Gil pull off this road trip, with the school’s budget worries? Probably trying to keep an eye on Mimi and her “golf coach”. And speaking of keeping an eye, you should be keeping an eye on the shenanigans going on in Mopped Up Thorp.

    P-1: Coach Trey-note to self—-teach kids two-handed chest pass.

P-2: Yes, things seem different now. You are allowed to score the winning basket after time expires.

P-3: Henry wins the Sherlock song award for “How Long”. Nice Job! A Paul Carrack classic.

Gil-doh!, we did this for football, I’m doing it for basketball too. But not constantly. The Milford Mavericks of Michigan are also enjoying first place, currently sitting at 18-3 and 12-3 in the Lakes Valley Conference. Will they follow their more famous namesakes and blow it at the end, securing second place? We’ll see.

The Playdown Showdown is coming. I’ll give Gil Thorpe credit their really building up this showdown between the two schools well with both Coachs having everything on the line to win this one as both’s jobs are in jeapordy if they loose.

I’ll tell you what’s different (see P2): The color of Milford’s uniforms. Usually, they’re red with black trim and lettering/numbering or the opposite. Today, there’s no red at all, just black with white numbers and letters and LAVENDER trim. With all their different uniforms, the Mudlarks are the Oregon Ducks of high school basketball.
