Umm…..the wallpaper is just an image. They didn’t have to “leave room for more books”. And if it only contains the books she’s written, I’d say there’s a ton of room on it unless the bookshelf is 6" wide.

Now, about a weatherproofing overhang for those stairs…. And what about the time when Lillian can no longer climb them? An electric stairlift chair, mebbe?
