I can think of a couple of names who must have been using AI for decades.

Ah, artificial intelligence. Because there’s so little of the real thing out there.

DO NOT USE AI-generated art. The leading providers simply took real artists’ work and fed it in without permission, let alone compensation. Some of these tools will give you work “in the style of” a specific artist that they stole their data from!

The AI advocates claim that it is just learning like humans do, but this is, frankly, a massive overstatement about how AI works. What this does is steal the hard work of real artists and sells it.

A trio of artists – including Sarah Andersen of “Sarah’s Scribbles,” obtainable here on gocomics – is suing, and more power to them!

“Artificial Intelligence” is an expression composed of two words. Those who promote it try to convince us that the first word isn’t there, but artificial is actually the most important part of the expression.

And the current state of AI is far from “learning like humans do”. It’s an artificial attempt to imitate certain features of human learning, while ignoring those that are harder to understand, much less implement. It’s no more “intelligent” than a moving picture is “alive”.

There has been a news report that several politicians/members of government are now using chatbotGPT to prepare what they say to the public. It seems to me that that would mean that they not only don’t mean what they’re saying, but that they also don’t even know what they’re saying.
