I work as a custodian at an elementary school. In the six years I have been there one of my first grade teacher take a poster board size piece of paper, draws a line down the middle and across near the top. The student write their names on a post-it note and guess whether or not the groundhog will see his shadow (one side for will and the other for won’t). I was a bit disappoint tonight when I got into that room and saw she didn’t do that this year.

It’s his 15 minutes of fame!

Now that he’s famous and has all that money from endorsements, he’s moved from his burrow to a bureau. (It has a bigger mirror to see his ego in.)

I love groundhogs… they taste just like chicken!

Time for my annual viewing of one of the best movies ever.

Ya got to give him credit, though, for participating in a fun event! Too bad they don’t dress him in a tux, too! ☺️

You have to go all in for a holiday that features a large rodent!! Happy Groundhog Day!

It’s heeere … over and over again …!

Hm, I read that “burrow” as “bureau” at first. The image of a bureaucrat emerging from the slimy ooze of worm casts is oddly accurate, I think.

Our official groundhog here in Georgia, Gen. Beauregard Lee, did not see his shadow so, as legend has it, we here in Georgia are destined for an early spring. Fingers crossed.
