When a congressional representative gets assigned to a sensitive committee, is there some vetting by the FBI or requirement to get security clearance? If not, what a great cheap way for a foreign country (Russia, China, etc) to gain access!

By the way, why doesn’t the DNC hire investigators to do at least a basic review of each national GOP candidate? They got the money, compared to the local candidate.

But it’s ok for Pelosi to put Omar on foreign relations so she can get a national platform to hate Israel.

I seriously doubt they could be any worse than Pelosi’s. They are all politicians, and it is not like the cream rises to the top in Congress. Once I have voted, I become invisible to them. Liberals who comment here should realize that the GOP House has no power to do anything without help in the Senate and no Biden veto or court overturn.

There should be minimum standards for politicians behavior, Paul Gosar would have fired from a real business decades ago.

Prabhu. Ralston, a Republican, passed away after an “extended illness” at 68 in November, just two weeks after announcing he would be stepping down due to health issues. He led the Georgia House of Representatives for 13 years.

Re: the Republican position on not raising the national debt ceiling until the Dems cave in to their demands.

It is the official policy of the United States that we do not negotiate with terrorists and hostage-takers, lest we lend positive reinforcement to their despicable tactics. While that’s usually understood to apply to radical foreign groups like Al-Qaeda or ISIS, or common domestic kidnappers, the patriotic thing to do is to apply the exact same policy to the terrorists across the aisle in Congress.

What kind of compromise is possible with agents of dementia, death, and destruction, anyway? Settling for only weirdness, maiming, and damage? Hold out for sanity, health, and integrity!

And why is it that the Democrats who still controlled Congress for the last two months of 2022 didn’t themselves raise the debt ceiling when they had the chance? Did none of them at all foresee this coming?
