It reminds me of the article I read fifty years ago about the House Unamerican Activities Committee (HUAC) had at one time considered investigating the relationship between Batman and Robin. This was before any movie or television series, just comics. Especially comics showing the two of them in a smoking jacket, Bruce Wayne, and pajamas for Robin.
Maybe they slipped into a different universe? I’m reminded of a 1963 story, “The Batman Nobody Remembered.” Batman finds himself in a parallel universe where he never existed, and Superman and Robin are partners.
