Santos meets the Constitutional eligibility requirements for entry into the House, so he must be seated. To un-seat him will require a 2/3 majority. That means a third of House Republicans would have to go along with all the Democrats. McCarthy needs every single Republican vote to become speaker, and the GOP will need them all for their weird agenda. So, no. Santos isn’t going anywhere.

He’s using the Nixon defense: “I am not a crook.”

Saw the sound bite of his explanation. “Everyone embellishes their resume”.

No explanation for being a non-Jew Jew-ish, or taking the checkbook of an elderly man in Brazil under his mother’s care, or how he went from being evicted to $55,000 a year to $700,000+ and able to loan more than a half million to his campaign.

The first Republican comment I heard was the query, ‘why didn’t his opponent’s campaign team find this out? He/they must really be incompetent!’ I guess that means that Republicans will take anybody as a candidate as long as he marches lock-step with whoever is the leader. Why should the opponent have to be the one who has to discover that he is a total fraud? Shouldn’t the party that he is representing check to make sure he is worthy of them? Or maybe they figure that anyone who can put one over on the opposition and the people will serve their purposes well.

He claims to be Jew-ish. I wonder if he’s also queer-ish?
