    I can imagine on-field injuries causing a player to lose a pair of legs, but how did the medic lose his? (Maybe the broadcasters, too, but I can’t see to be sure.)

    And here I’ve always thought that “the bee’s knees” was old-fashioned slang for “the best” or “marvelouos” or some such idea.

    Do any bees have knees?

    In fact, they do – even though they are not technically called knees. Bees have six legs, and each of those six legs includes a joint between the femur and tibia, known as a knee.
