It was a long strange trip indeed. Starting with Newt (the Salamander) Gingrich or maybe Ronny Raygun, when the GOP started to consider the Democrats the enemy rather than the loyal opposition. And setting up to pack the various courts.
I start with Nixon’s Gang of Four when he nominated “strict constructinists” to the Supreme Court. Burger, Blackmun, Powell, and Rehnquist then proceed to coddle crooked cops by “modifying” the exclusionary rule and Miranda rights. LBJ’s mistake of getting Goldberg to leave for Fortas didn’t help either. By the way, it’s possible to memorize all 118 justices, but it helps to know all the presidents.
Heaven knows, this person is the only web designer in country. It’s not like they have the option of taking their business to someone who actually wants it. It’s not about the website; it’s about forcing people to do things they don’t want to do.
“Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself; provided thy neighbor art a male, hath the right color of skin, and doth make an income of six figures or more, and dost agree with thine own political stripe.” The New and Improved MAGA Gospel. /s
There’s a fundamental principle here. Private property is private, but if I open up a business to the public, then I shouldn’t be allowed to discriminate. The public is the public. I don’t think we would allow a business to say We don’t serve Jews. At least I hope we wouldn’t allow that. Perhaps there are questions about categories of discrimination; I suppose ultimately community standards will have to apply. I would like pubic standards to agree that you don’t discriminate on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation, for a start. (Or course people have tried to get around the principle that the public is the public by maintaining that their business is not public, but a “private club” which just happens exclude members of certain groups. I suppose that’s where the courts come in to adjudicate.)
“Why it’s just a thing called the weaponization of the First Amendment, little klanny man . . . so so-called Christians can feel good about being mean to people they don’t like.”
Zech 4:6 not by might nor force but by spirit of the Lord. (love not hate nor judging)Jesus left two commands love God and love your neighbor (which is everyone)You can’t get into Heaven discriminating against any person. And you can’t be “saved” if youdiscriminate.
Why has go comics started blocking my comment with an add that stays over it so I cannot hit ’’comment’’? I cannot remove it without refreshing the page and losing it? Being forced to start over. Is ‘’go comics’’ becoming the newest ‘’comic kingdom’’ where only radical right-wing comments are allowed or is this a new quirk?

If a website designer won’t write the code the way you want, then find another one that will.

Was there always this much fear, hate, and exclusion in evangelism — or did the extreme right nurture them for political gain?

‘In your face’ Religion is almost always bad for businesses that serve/depend upon the general public.
