I was STRONGLY conditioned against (getting caught) lying. And encouraged to read fiction. It’s an interesting dichotomy… but one result is that I have very little difficulty recognizing lies.

The cause for all the killing is a cheapening and disrespect for life. When babies become throwaway commodities, older life doesn’t hold much value either.

Motive for the Club Q shooting hasn’t yet been established. It may be an anti-gay thing, or it might just be a random shooting.

Disregarding love, compassion, and understanding for anyone not them is the holy grail for christian conservatives. The power of hate, guns, and violence has possessed them, and they cannot get enough.

I would hire an LGBTQ friend to babysit my kids over a catholic priest or some of the Evangelical hard-right church members I know.

The horror of it all, for me, is not that the Я’s are more vermin than human and that they will lie about anything for cheap political points. There will always be vermin drawn to free and easy pickings. The ongoing shock is that so many Americans support them. Whether that support is through ignorance or malignancy, I can’t help feel that this isn’t the country I grew up thinking it was.

Ya gotta admire the versatility of the letter Q, depicted on both sides of today’s image. Like so many things today, it means whatever people want it to mean.

According to the Daily Mail, the shooter is non-binary, and uses “they/them” pronouns. Doesn’t sound much like a Trump supporter to me, but I could be wrong.

Republicans have to lie or they will cease to exist. In phone surveys, when people are given a choice on issues that affect their daily life, taken from both Republican and Democratic Party publications, those who identify themselves as Democrats agree with the Democrats about 80% of the time. Independents do to, about 58% of the time. The weird thing is that 42% of Republicans agree with the Democratic positions too, unless the are told which is which. Then they fall into line and agree with the Republicans 78% of the time. People who identify as Republicans make up somewhere between 30% and 42% of the voters, depending on the year. It’s currently way down. 78% of 42% is 33%. The Republicans would never win another national election with those odds. So, the Republicans have to keep as many people from voting as possible, and keep the rest of them confused enough to vote against their own best interests.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake was still claiming that she could win the seat as of Wednesday morning while speaking to far-right activist Steve Bannon during his show.

“You’re gonna win this!” Bannon proclaimed.
