Snack Friday it is!

Note to self: add Snack Friday to 2023 calendar.Whatever shopping I was going to do is done. (I only have a few people I shop for and no kids are involved) Everything has been wrapped, bowed and tagged. It’s all been in the garage for the past two weeks along with all of the CostCo cookie tins that are all bowed up. It looked very festive in there. Because we’re gone for most Christmases, I gave away 90% of our decorations several years ago. This year we’re staying home so I decorated the area above the fireplace, put out a few pillows and small holiday lamps. I brought in the gifts from the garage and loaded the table behind the sofa yesterday.I am DONE.

I’ve never felt obligated to participate in made-up “spending holidays”. These days you can spend more on gas chasing bargains than you “earn”.

Now Snack Day – don’t get me started. In America, every day is Snack Day.

The Friday after Thanksgiving should be like Boxing Day – a special Leftovers Day with leftovers repackaged for distribution.

When I was hungry and temporarily homeless, I would have thoroughly enjoyed day-after-Thanksgiving leftovers.

Yup. Mittens has the best idea. I am going to curl up with the wife, cats, dogs, and snacks and binge Wednesday, Andor and Komi Can’t Communicate. Happy Viewing.

I’m about to go to the grocery store to see if there are markdowns from Thanksgiving and then come home to curl up. I am not going near any other kind of store today!
