Not only a bizarre fantasy that winning a bare majority is some great victory, but depicting a gavel smashing someone whose spouse was viciously assaulted with a hammer is grotesque. I admire Varvel’s visual imagination even though I disagree with his politics and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him go so low. Did he really not see the connection?
Gary, methinks you are a little bitter about the GOP winning a (very slim) majority in the House, the Dems keeping their Senate majority and (if Warnock defeats Walker in the GA runoff on 12/06) expanding their majority by one seat. Which will be very beneficial to process those federal judge appointments from Biden. Not to mention the possibility that Justices Thomas and/or Alito would either fall ill or decide to retire between now and 2024. Much as I like Pelosi (say what you want about her, but she knew how to get things done), I think it’s time that Pelosi stepped away from being House Minority leader. But that’s just my opinion.
