You do NOT want to be on Twitter. In fairness, it was always dumb. It is made dumber by the MAGA trolls, some of whom are represented in today’s comment section.

Advertisers are closely watching Twitter. Enough are ready to pull all ads if Twitter degenerates into a race-filled hate mongering swamp. This will kill Musk’s goal to have Twitter not be a bottomless pit sucking in his monies.

Around one-in-five U.S. adults (23%) say they use Twitter. The share of Americans who use the platform has remained consistent over the past several years. A minority of Twitter users produce the vast majority of tweets. Among U.S. adults who use Twitter, the top 25% of users by tweet volume produce 97% of all tweets, while the bottom 75% of users produce just 3%, according to an analysis conducted over a three-month period in 2021. Republican Twitter users are far more likely than Democrats to say it’s a major problem that Twitter limits the visibility of certain posts or bans users from the platform. Overall, 31% of U.S. users say Twitter limiting the visibility of certain posts is a major problem, and 25% say the same about banning users from the platform. However, Republican Twitter users are roughly 10 times as likely as Democrats to say banning users from the platform is a major problem (61% vs. 6%), and more than three times as likely to say user bans are a major problem (59% vs. 17%). One of the most high-profile people to be banned from the platform is former President Donald Trump.

In other words, only a small minority of Americans are even ON twitter, and it’s only a small minority of THEM that make the most noise. And it’s mostly the Republicans that HATE not having the ability to spread nonsense and lies without ANY consequences.

I could be disingenuous and ask “What’s Twitter?” But I won’t. Since I know what Twitter is and since it serves no useful purpose, I avoid it. Of course, I also avoid Facebook, Tik-Tok, and other similar – ahem – services. I have been told by those “in the know” that I basically don’t exist. But I’d have to say that from my observations, I’m happier in my ignorance than they are “in the know.” 8>)

This cartoon has me suspended on Facebook for 30 days. It’s also blocked on Truth Social. It’s still on Twitter, however.

“If he’s not going to do the right thing, and he’s just going to let himself be removed illegally, then we should have brought rifles. We could have fixed it right then and there. Those twitter employees who have been fired should shut everything down before they go out the door. Delete every user and post the haters names and addresses on public forums.
