I will never understand why people that are hurt worse by Republican policies are their biggest supporters at the polls. Whose child do they think goes hungry when conservatives cut funding for school lunches, for instance? A partial explanation is “better all go hungry, just so ‘those people’ don’t get a free lunch.” It sounds mean and vindictive, but that’s how their minds work.

Rhonda Santis: Here’s what you get if Republicans are elected: This is the Republican “platform.” They won’t write it down because too many voters might read it, so I did it for them. Despite being in the minority, members of the SCOTUS, “Conservatives,” RWNJs, and white supremacists are attempting to drag this country back to their imaginary Jeffersonian agrarian idyl. The 1790 census (when Jefferson was Secretary of State), counted 5.3M Americans. Only white males owning 50 acres or more of land were permitted to vote, approximately 6% of the population. Free white men who did not own land, free white females, and slaves could not vote. In 1790 the American population was largely rural, making a living by farming. Our most recent census counted 332,403,650 Americans. Current estimates are that 83% of Americans live in urban areas. They do not work at farming. Of course, a country of 300-plus million Americans requires a larger government than one with only 5.3 million Americans. Please don’t worry about how “small government” works with regulating what goes on in your bedroom, or prohibiting women (still citizens as far as I know) from crossing state lines for medical care. Nevertheless, in pursuit of “small government,” the following are conservatives’ goals for their “Jeffersonian” America

1. No women’s rights.

2. No civil rights for people of color, or for any other minority groups.

3. No immigration, other than Caucasians.

4. No labor unions.

5. No health insurance.

6. No legal recourse due to Republican-packed courts.

7. No social security.

8. No disability insurance.

9. No minimum wage.

10. No free and fair elections (ultimately, no elections).

11. Imposed state religion; government funding of religious schools.

12. Unregulated militias unchecked by Republican-packed courts.

13. No work on mitigating climate change; no environmental protections. Continued…

GOP politicians don’t care about the environment or mitigating climate change because they intend to stay permanently in office and use their money and power to take over remaining livable locations as environmental conditions worsen. Republican leaders don’t care if America dies as long as they can feed off the carcass for their lifetimes. How many Americans would have to die or be virtually enslaved in jobs with less than living wages for this “platform” to work? Why do you people who support today’s GOP, Trump, and Trump wannabes think that you will come out winners under this regime? VOTE, AND VOTE BLUE!

We the People of the United States do not deserve what has been done to it by the Republican Party.

They say that polling indicates that more people are worried about inflation than reproductive rights or protecting our democracy.

In Britain, inflation is at 10.1%; in Germany, it is 10%; and in Italy is a bargain at just 7%. People are blaming President Biden and the Democrats for inflation…please explain then why most of the industrialized world is also having inflation?

If you think Republicans have the answer to inflation…ask them to explain it; they can’t. The republicans have no plan for inflation except to make you afraid of it and cut social programs that will help you with it.

Republicans want to raise drug prices and eliminate the FDA’s ability to negotiate because they are in the pocket of big pharma. If it is tough for you now, think how much worse it will be without social safety nets.

The only thing a Republican congress will do is hold hearing after hearing on Hunter Biden and the Justice Department. Obfuscate the issues so that trump can run again. At the end of the day, ask yourself which party wants to help and which wants to seize power at any cost.

We have seen enough tricks, time for some treats!

Oh boy, the Dems want to give out more money, our money. Who is the real trickster?

The answer to this question will reveal if you are a Republican or a Democrat.

You are in charge of doling out money and two people come to you for a handout. One of them is disabled and cannot work and the other is a scam artist looking to game the system. And you have no way of discerning which is which.

Do you give both of them a handout to make sure the one who deserves it get it? Or do you deprive both of them to make sure the scammer doesn’t?

Yes. While the Dems will do what it can to help the nation out, the Repubs will do what it can to help itself out.

The problem is that America sees it differently. They see the treats going to the “wrong” people and therefore vote for the tricks.
