Apparently, Biden who knew someone named Jackie had died, none the less tried to single him out during a speech. Something like that. I expect his speech writers were… annoyed… that he’d gone off script. Again.
Reagan also had trouble with memory… so this ’toon MIGHT to the point. If Skelley remembers that.
All known 2022 “Reagans” are busy denying the results of the 2020 election and laying the groundwork for denying the 2022 election results—unless, of course, they win. Can’t someone move forward?
Interesting comparison. Reagan increased the deficit (isn’t that a conservative no-no?) and increased wealth inequality (a no-no in my book). Defense spending ballooned while domestic spending was slowed. ALL economic actions/conditions have pluses/minuses; I think for too many there’s a happy memory of the “good old days” of the 1980s (“It’s morning in America”) that is dismissive of the negative consequences of that era.
So, Biden is supposed to know all 535 members of Congress? Which President knew them all? He would know the whales, but not the minnows, as LBJ would say.
1) Jackie Walorski was a Congressman® who was killed in a car accident in August.
The White House was sponsoring a conference to fight hunger. Walorski had co-sponsored a bill to also fight hunger. Biden was giving his remarks and mistakenly asked where she was.
An unforunate mistake? Yes. A sign of age? Possibly. But we all do it, don’t we?
2) Reaganomics was a failure. It destroyed the middle class. It is responsible for a massive upward redistribution in wealth which created the 1%
Kelly’s toon is focused on those who are too young to remember the social and economic horrors of the Regan administration’s marrying christianity to the United States government and the implementation of “trickle-down economics”. Those christian-conservatives who have been trained in the Republican religion and can still read should venture into the actual transcripts from the Regan era available from the National Archives. Fair warning, though; you might feel shame and disgust about the Republican Party you now support.
Two misrepresentations of the truth here. 1) Inflation ballooned to 19% under Carter, a big reason why he didn’t get re-elected and Reagan won (“there you go again…”).
2) Clinton was able to balance the budget because of the dot-com bubble, which was illusory (or did you forget?).
During the last incumbency, you couldn’t go a day without hearing the Democrats squall about the 25th Amendment. Now only crickets. Though it’s obvious to all that DJT on his most confused day was light years more coherent than Brandon at his best.
just what we need, bringing back the demented sock puppet to blow up the deficit again. Reagan probably couldn’t be a worse “president” as a corpse as he actually was.
When WOKE Progressives lay in their 1,000 thread count sheets staring at the ceiling and wonder how they blew this. I wonder if they lie to themselves about Brandon or do you admit he was a means to an end to get DJT out by any means necessary regardless the damage done?

Reagan destroyed the middle class and came up with “trickle down”. It was Clinton that balanced the budget or did you forget?

It was a stupid thing for Biden to say. I just wish he would have an open mic press conference to give us confidence that he has his act together.

The national debt doubled in the 8 Reagan years (1981-1988), after NO increases since 1949.
