Not totally on topic, but the mention of “calamine lotion” brings back a true story. My late MIL called hubby and me in the early morning hours because she had a bottle of calamine lotion next to a bottle of Pepto-Bismol in her medicine cabinet. Being sleepy, she accidentally swallowed a dose of calamine lotion instead of the Pepto. I called the ER, who contacted Poison Control, and they assured us that she would be fine. They did suggest that she move the two bottles of medicine to locations not so close together.

Actually, those supplies should be replaced every year – they lose their “effectiveness” over time.

The sun still shines in the summer, and when it reflects off the snow, you can get a nasty, nasty burn. Lather up.
