The point is that the power that makes the government work is all us worker bees in the civil service. Who do you think answers the phones when you call with a problem? Who do you think gets all those checks out to maintain basic services? Who does the work to set up the funding for basic research that has made this nation the leader in biomedical research? Think about it. It doesn’t happen by magic.
If everyone who wants to complain about government seriously took pause and examined all the things the government does—and does well, we’d all be better off.
